Dr. Iman Khan
Born in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Iman Khan was raised in the Eastern Province capital city of Dammam. After completing High School there, in 2009 she entered the five year MBBS (“Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery”) program at the Kasturba Medical College in coastal Karnataka, India. It was also there that Dr. Khan completed her Internship in 2015.
After successfully sitting for exams and obtaining her required certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, Dr. Khan’s footsteps took her on a much longer trek. In July of 2017 her journey led her to the United States (specifically Baltimore, MD) where she spent three years as a Resident within the Greater Baltimore Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. In July of 2019, Dr. Khan was then selected to become the esteemed Chief Resident for the program.
During this time Dr. Khan developed a keen interest in Nephrology, so in July of 2020 she moved to New York City, NY where she was accepted into the Nephrology Fellowship Program at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College. She successfully completed the program in June of 2022. Renal Care was lucky enough to find Dr. Khan shortly thereafter while searching for a well-qualified Nephrologist; she joined our team in August of 2022.
Dr. Khan enjoys all aspects of nephrology, especially the long-term connections she develops with her patients through managing their illness.
In her free time, Dr. Khan enjoys reading, kayaking, swimming and cooking for family and friends.
